Meet Dylan

Locally, I am known mostly as a father, small business owner, and author. I graduated from Port Townsend High School in 2004, after which I participated in the second-ever Expedition Club trip to Phapang, Thailand—an opportunity shared by many who have grown up in our unique community.

I hold a bachelor's degree from The Evergreen State College where I worked my way through school as a custodian and maintenance technician for the campus. That experience started me on a path to property management and facilities maintenance that lasted until my departure from the Fort Worden PDA in 2019.

Seeking a fresh start, I took an extremely rewarding job as a reading specialist for the Quilcene School District. While there, I became heavily involved in the union, successfully bargaining for a substantial pay raise and much-needed safety provisions for our members during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. This experience reinforced my belief that when working people stand together, we can create meaningful change—no matter how uncertain the times.

After the birth of my son, I became a stay-at-home dad, diving headfirst into the world of library storytime, Playschool, swim lessons, YMCA activity groups, and spontaneous park playdates. Through these experiences, and many more, I learned of the shared struggles facing young, working families. Port Townsend has a lot to offer, but there is still more work to be done!

I am ready to get to work for you!
